Find Out What Makes
Cherry Orchard Extraordinary!

Welcome to Cherry Orchard Primary School and Preschool. We are proud to be a caring, inclusive and ambitious school where every child is valued and encouraged to achieve their very best. Our diverse community celebrates different backgrounds, languages and experiences, creating a welcoming environment where children feel safe, respected and ready to learn. We look forward to welcoming you to Cherry Orchard and sharing what makes our school such a special place to learn and grow.
Little Cherries is our on-site preschool that provides a caring and nurturing start to your child's school journey. With familiar staff, consistent routines and a play-based approach to learning, children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning from an early age.
Children can take part in a wide range of clubs, sports, music and creative activities before, during and after school. Educational visits and residential trips help bring learning to life, while leadership roles such as School Council, Ambassadors and House Captains encourage children to take responsibility and make a positive contribution to school life. These experiences help children build confidence, develop new skills and create a love of learning that stays with them long after they leave primary school.

We are proud to be a diverse and welcoming community where children and families from many different backgrounds learn, grow and thrive together. We celebrate and value difference, helping every child develop respect, understanding and strong friendships. Our partnerships with local faith groups, universities, sports organisations and family hubs strengthen our connection to the wider community, while our dedicated PTA, COSA, raises vital funds and organises events that bring families together and enrich school life.

Year 2 have been learning to name and locate the oceans of the world in our Geography lessons. This week, we thought about all the ways human activity can affect our oceans, and made posters to make people aware of how we should protect them.

A big thank you to the parents who were able to join us this morning for our Year 4 Multiplication Workshop! It was a great opportunity to explore how we teach times tables and share practical ways to support children at home. Remember - short, simple and regular practice makes all the difference!

The children have had such a good night's sleep that the adults have just had to wake everyone up! All is well. #hollowford2026

We have some very tired children this evening! What a fantastic day of activities! Thank you to the amazing instructors here at Hollowford Centre Castleton. #hollowford2026
